Pier Players proudly presents in collaboration with The Media Theatre the Philadelphia premiere of the popular new musical Ink & Paint!
This historical musical follows the stories of the first women animators at Walt Disney Studios in the 1930s and 1940s. As they navigate a male-dominated industry in the face of war, strike, and difficult societal expectations, these four women dedicate their lives and careers to pursuing their passions. Through a fantastic fully-original score and insightfully-written scenes that give us laughter and heartbreak, Ink & Paint unlocks a truth about a studio that we all know and love:
It didn't start with a mouse. It started with Ink and Paint and us.
Ink & Paint is being presented as part of The Media Theatre's Story Series, a new initiative to bring new, untold, and/or distinctive stories to the theater.

Uncap your red pens again; The Angry Grammarian came back.
After its sold-out world premiere run in March 2024, The Angry Grammarian returned. The world premiere production was Barrymore Recommended, named one of the top things to do in Philly by Philadelphia Magazine and Visit Philly, was raved about by The New Yorker, and was even featured internationally on BBC World Service.
And, by popular demand, it came back to Philadelphia in September 2024, this time at the Arden Theatre's Arcadia Stage. The new production included new scenes, new songs, and old rules.

In October 2024, just a few weeks after The Angry Grammarian, Pier Players presented the Philadelphia premiere of the murder mystery comedy The Café Mocha Murders!
This spooky and hilarious show was all about latte art, caffeine content, and the imminent threat of death. It was perfect for Halloween and made for an ideal fall treat ... simply put, it was to die for!
